I think it is important to keep in mind that, at it's essence, Christianity is a religion of redemption as opposed to condemnation. Of course, people being people, this is not always what we "see."

In canonized as well as non-canonized writings from the Sub and Post-Apostolic era one central theme resonates throughout; love others more than you love yourself. No offense but, considering this, the topic of Pagan gods and demi-gods drop from the equation. :)

(I.e., the only thing Tiki I am afraid of is Phallic Rock on Molokai... well, more "in awe" than "afraid.")
