I was reading the Monster cable post, and it reminded me of a TV show I once saw, where a former con-man and skeptic was debunking myths.
He ran the experiment with a class of about 30 people, who were told to submit thier birthdates, and he would provide a "personal" horoscope with a personality profile.
All the participants were told to read thier "personal" horoscope/profile, and then on a scale of 1 to 10, rate the accuracy as to how much it resembled themselves.
The participants generally rated in the 8 to 9 range.....most agreed (and were amazed) at how accurate these descriptions were!
Then, they were told to pass thier "personal" horoscopes to the person sitting behind them.
All of the horoscopes were exactly the same!
This same expert also ran an experiment with a group of russian women who were "psychics" and claiming they could look at any photograph and "read" them and tell you all about the person without knowing them.
They were shown a picture of a young guy, and all said that he was a very nice guy, who loved women, and was NICE to women..a compassionate guy, a laid back guy, a very well adjusted guy..and so on...
The guy in the picture was...Ted Bundy!!!
That is so Virgo of you.
