I thought of an interesting application for styrofoam tikis. You could make childrens pool toys out of them and cover them with a stretchy fabric like lycra.

Another idea would be tiki ice chests...something where the alcohol (what else are ice chests for) goes in the mouth. I can't sketch it now as I have a class in a few minutes, but I'm thinking of the tiki laying down and his mouth wide open.

I'm not a carver, so thought I would pass on the inspiration.

So you do Mardi Gras? Where?
