Kon Tiki is a must-see, but not for the drinks, which are very popular with its young college crowd, but are far too sweet and unbalanced to please the tiki audience. tikijackalope, you should definitely go to Kon Tiki, but if you want your tiki drink de-virginization to be special, the list of places I can whole-heartedly recommend is sadly short. Trader Vic's, Tiki-Ti, Mai Kai, Hale Tiki, Chef Shangri-La... the best bartenders today are behind home tiki bars, people like Martiki, pablus, kick_the_reverb, Dr. Z, bigbrotiki and Alnshely.
