Comic Relief (the original UK charity, not the US copy) holds it's main money raising event in the spring of every other year, and this year it's today! Schools have a "non uniform" day, there's a live television show on BBC1 with British comics & musicians, people raise money by doing silly things like sitting in a bathtub of Heinz Baked Beans all day, and you can buy little rubber noses in all the shops. You can buy larger rubber noses for your cars, & there's even ones for mounting on buildings. The money they raise goes towards African famine relief & toward helping the needy around the UK.
