To go back to the primitive motifs of Jon Hassell's music, seek out other Eno collaborator Michael Brook's Hybrid. It has quite a bit of jungle percussion and atmosphere to it. His other albums are great, but Hybrid is the only one that I would recommend for a primitive setting.
