Tiki Central / Tiki Music / Exotica Mixed with Techno and Dance Beats ?

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but there's a great album by DJ/Producer/Turntablist Funki Porcini called "The Ultimate Empty Million Pounds". It's more loungey/jazzy than techno and he makes great use of sampled 50s/60s era horns and organs. It almost sounds like spy movie music at times. It has one of my favorite laid-back lounge-groove songs, "Tiers of Joy".

I hope this doesn't devolve into a pissing match about the "sacrilage" of mixing beats with lounge/exotica. Seems particularly ironic when the whole foundation of poly pop is based on the re-contexualization of south pacific culture. I like my pure exotica and I like my beats. I don't see anything wrong with mixing the two. It's not as if the original material magically vanishes once they are used in this fashion.
