Many artists here are considered old friends - maybe because they log in on a daily or almost daily basis to show art or just to chat. That familiarity prompts more familiar - and more frequent - responses from others. Therefore, I don't think that the light response means that people aren't impressed with your art, I think that they just aren't as inclined to respond as readily because they aren't as familiar with you as a poster.
