Apostolof. In the interview, he mentions that the idea for the "Hawaiian Dance" scene popped into his head when he visited a "Hawaiian place on Hollywood Boulevard" with "the dancing girls with the lights and the volcanos". This doesn't really justify spending the time to watch this film (it is recommended only to fans of striptease or fans of REALLY bad movies), but it is a direct link to the Polynesian thing.
