This Saturday, June 11, the Auckland Art Museum in New Zealand will open a new tiki art show, that will trace the history of tiki from the 1500's to today's current kitsch representations. The following is fascinating article about this show, titled 'What's Wrong With a Tacky Tiki'

Dick Frizzell, one of the artists interviewed in the above article, did a neat piece titled 'From Mickey to Tiki Tu Meke' that transforms the face of Mickey Mouse into a tiki face. That image can be found as a thumbnail near the bottom of the Museum's Print shop
