Greetings...
Fans of Neko Case will likely be familiar with Jon Rauhouse, or if you're a fan of other acts he's played with such as Grievous Angels, Waco Brothers, John Langford, Chris Mills, Sally Timms, and Kelly Hogan...

Anyway, Jon's put out a few steel guitar albums that are worth hearing, and has a new one out, "Hawaiian Guitar Expedition" that'd be a nice addition to any swanky tiki bar. It's 12 tracks o'goodness, although 3 each are from his previous 2 records - but don't let that stop you. I got mine in the mail today and it's a delightful compilation.

Jon is selling the disc as a show-only item, but http://www.stinkweeds.com has a few. Before posting, I did a search on his name on the site and discovered he's one of the many acts who'll be at Chicago Exotica 2005. More on that here: http://www.pegboardchicago.com/exotica

Presumably Jon'll have some available at his performance. Wish I could be there!

Other recommendations: both his "Steel Guitar Air Show" and "Steel Guitar Rodeo" CDs are good, and Neko's stuff just knocks me out - her live record, "The Tigers Have Spoken" is tremendous. Jon's official site is http://www.jonrauhouse.com and you can hear a bit of the track 'Million Dollar Mermaid' when it loads.

Cheers,
Rupe
