"The Teddy Bear's Picnic", Dennis Potter (uk playwright) used loads of 30's novelty records in his telly plays and turned them dark.
"Country Death Song" by the Violent Femmes, the terrible desperation of having to kill your own child so you can afford to eat.
But the Folk song "Oh Death" (there is a version of it on the "O'Brother where art thou" soundtrack)is a top creepy song.
