Me so late to this thread, must peek in Bilge more often. My first real concert was J. Geils Band with Ian Hunter and Mick Ronson opening at the Springfield (MA) Civic Center in June of 1979. Humu, I was at that Bumbershoot show as well. Mudhoney played before Mel. Word was that Mel felt that was one of his best performances ever, being able to perform for the "kids" and get such a warm response. A bizarre, yet amazing bill, especially in retrospect. |
