GRAND CANYON 4 – Day WHITE WATER RAFTING TRIP
7-15-06 THRU 7-20-06
http://www.westernriver.com

The Alex’s are super excited about their 2006 River Rafting Adventure planned for July 15 – 20th 2006 and wanted to know if you would like to join in on the fun. The 4 day river rafting trip is outlined on their website http://www.westernriver.com, please check out that they have in store for us. The days are filled with rafting and hiking to waterfalls and every night you camp-out under the stars or in a tent and the staff cooks all the meals. It’s $1,295.00/a person (plus a tip for your guide, they recommend 5-10%). On this trip you will experience a car, plane, horse, ATV, helicopter, raft, swim, hike, jetboat, motorcoach …..OK, I died and went to Heaven!

Here’s the plan -
July 15th - We will be driving to Las Vegas and be staying at the in Hawthorne Suites, 5051 Duke Ellington Way. It’s about $120 a night for a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite (pack’em in and save $). Use the code (westernriv) for reservation (better $) http://www.hawthorn.com. Cars can be left at the hotel while we are rafting. (We’ll be staying at the Hawthorne the first night and the last night)

July 16 - We’ll begin our Grand Canyon tour with a beautiful flight from Las Vegas to Bar Ten Ranch. Before we begin your three-day exploration of the Grand Canyon, you'll enjoy an overnight stay at the working cattle ranch perched high on a plateau above the Colorado River. Our transition from civilization to wilderness includes horse-back riding and skeet shooting. An old-fashioned chuck wagon dinner and evening entertainment before settling into bed in the lodge or a covered wagon under the stars. ATV riding (additional fee),
July 17 - After a big country breakfast, a helicopter takes us deep into the Grand Canyon where our rafts await. After orientation and introductions, hold on for Kolb and Mile 207 rapids, both big plunges.
July 18 - Our J-Rig rafts enter awesome Lower Granite Gorge with a series of moderate rapids including Granite Spring, Diamond Creek and Travertine. Hike, explore and play at Travertine Grotto, a fantastic series of hidden waterfalls and pools. Run the biggest rapids of the trip, the "230's."
July 19 - As we near Lake Mead, the river calms and the canyon widens. At mid-morning, we'll transfer to a jetboat for a thrilling hour-long ride down river and across Lake Mead where a deluxe motorcoach will be waiting to return us to Las Vegas. We’ll be spending the night at the Las Vegas Hawthorne Suites again that night, unless you need to get back in a hurry.
July 20 - The next day, Thursday, we may stay on in Vegas, continue on to Bryce or Zion or head home.
The Reservation number for Western River tours is (800) 453-7450 tell them you are going with the Alex Group. We have 18 spots held until Aug. 22nd , and there is still 18 more available. But seriously not for long, they will all go up for grabs. Everybody should make your own arrangements; river trip deposit is $300 each. The cancellation policy in intense (please read the Website). For an additional fee you can purchase trip insurance and not worry so much? Our money is in, and done and we are going with or without you, BUT WE PREFER WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please call Baxter Alex if you have any additional questions (949) 230-5572

OK it is a much better read after my wife got to it?
