I agree with what some people are saying about how some artists span multiple media, and how that might create additional topics, but I also think that if you're only in the mood to browse, and you don't really care what you're checking out, the organization issue is less important. I think sub-categories would be most useful for people that just want to focus their browsing experience a bit, like if you're looking for some new carving ideas, or if you're curious about what other people have done in the field of painting tikis but have never tried it yourself. That way you have the freedom to browse without the limitations of a search, but you can still focus in on just the stuff that would be most useful at that time. Brilliant idea, really!
