... once you run tiger, you'll need all the ram you can get... ... once you run cs2, you'll need all the ram you can get... ... same with da & dv apps... boost your ram to the nines... ... every incarnation of the mac presents the assorted and sundry hoops to jump through... ... dump all the bundled software and strip the box to the bare nuts and run 'em lean... ... with the new dual core processors you can install 4tb of ram... install all you can afford... ... in the end, with the mac, you really have to time your cpu purchases, typically every four to five years if timed right... you'll be upgrading your peripherals as well... |
