For the sake of demonstration, this piece was included in a recent art show.
My first reaction was, "Wow, that's just a photo that's been photoshopped." My friend countered, "I can do that too." Now I know the arguement is if you can do it, than why didn't you? But I can see how a common use of everyday software can be immediately dismissed whether it is art or not. It seems to be perceived as more of a "craft" in the paint-by-numbers or refrigerator art vein... |
