I don't have any tiki to show,because I haven't made any yet.But I will be starting one soon.Here's a canoe shaped bowl and some masks that I am trying to finish.Also a rattle made of a Yew burl.
The bowl is the first of a series that i want to do
You can see that the tools I use are mainly straight knives,crooked knives, and adzes.
Looking at the fine work in here has really inspired me to do some oceanic inspired stuff.I hope to learn from you tiki people.
I have been scrounging for a supply of wood and racking my brain to figure out how to get some cash for tools.
I'm hitting the interlibrary loan for books on Pacific art for ideas
For bowls and masks,it's hard to beat fresh western red alder.A 15" round can be split to make 2 blanks.
