i was a bit disapointed with the exhibit.. there were some wonderful textiles, woven in the traditional manner ~ as well as some crazy new stuff created by blending old and new. and lots and lots of purses!

there was one carver working on a two headed house panel that was about 12 feet long. and a man getting a full leg tattoo (with a modern tat needle). there were several women weaving and explaining materials.

there were few other carvings in the Maori exhibit ~ but throughout the rest of the Burke Museum, there were nice artifacts from Pacific Rim nations.

if you go on a saturday after noon, or any time sunday, you can park in the adjacent lot. any other time, you'll need to park off-campus.
