From what I've read and seen about route 66, it was in serious decline as the Tiki trend was rising. I think you'll get your craw full of "Worlds Largest Cement Road Runner" Cement Teepee Motels, and "Come see the Purple Caboose of mystery" billboards... sort of from the era between WWI and WWII
