They're not stories in the sense that there is a specific narrative or characters, but there's an arc of mood, dynamics and intensity that implies that a story's being told. That's the genius of rides like PotC. You feel as though you have watched a story, but they are simply a series of vignettes carefully arranged to mimic a story's dramatic progression.
