foamy - The heavy brush background actually isn't heavy at all. It's blue mixed with a bit of paint thinner and brushed onto the canvas with a 3" or 4" wide brush. It went on very lightly and the streaks were easy to create due to the thinness of the paint thus actually relatively easy to paint over. I started to paint the background differently but when I did what I did I thought it looked cool so I left it! I don't know how SHAG does his backgrounds but I would guess it's very similiar though he uses acrylic instead of oil. Her eyes are the one thing everyone comments about. Eyes are difficult and I'm pretty much a begginer painter and I like the painting so well that I was afraid I might screw it up or make her look to "anime" in style so I kept her with her eyes closed. Perhaps one day I will do a different revision of her and make her have a wonderful pair of big blue piercing eyes!
