It looks like classic rock is what my Mac wants to hear right now.

I have that problem, too. Right now if I pull out 10 songs at random on my iPod 99% of the time one is Korla Pandit, "Mississippi" Fred McDowell, Lee "Scratch" Perry and/or The Fall.
