I'd seen X-eyed tiki mugs but hadn't seen an X-shaped contour on a tiki's face 'til I photographed this (Guanko?) tiki at Sam's Seafood.

So, is there an ethnic origin for the "X", or was it an invention of commercial sculptors? Sorry if this has been covered before, but it's kind of a hard topic to search due to all the references to X-eyed mugs.

Also, am I mistaken or is this supposed to be a necktie on another Sam's tiki?

Whats up with that?
