I've made the Beachcomber Mai Tai before, and the Pernod absolutely ruined it. There was nothing pleasurable about that drink for me at all. Since I enjoy the Vic's version better, I will stick with that. As far as the Suffering Bastard goes... I highly enjoy the Grog Log version. Any other recipe I've seen (even in my Trader Vic's books) just doesn't seem quite right as they are too similar to previously established drinks. -T.J. |
