"And for my mid-life crisis, I decided to become a radio dj..."

Yup, after more than a year of making guest appearances on the Lounge King Show here in Montreal, I have been asked to put together a short (15 minutes) weekly show for LuxuriaMusic.com Internet Radio.

Like my recent Lounge King appearances, the show will be called "Thrifting for Tunes" and it will be recorded behind the bar here at my Mauna Loa Lounge. The show features an eclectic selection of music from here, there and everywhere... From thrift shops, to record stores, to church bazaars, to the World Wide Web – if it’s out there, it’ll make its way into the lounge and out to you on Thrifting for Tunes.

The first show is just a little intro to the Thrifting for Tunes concept and a sampling of various types of music that may pop up on the show in the future. Other episodes to come (in May) are more thematic and feature early electronics, spaghetti western soundtracks, film noir music, and Italo-American exotica.

Whenever possible – which means almost always – each segment will end with an exotica track or something from the Polynesian Pop repertoire.

Why am I doing this? Well, because they asked. Plus, I'm always listening to music anyway, so I figured, why not share it...?

Complete info can be found at http://www.luxuriamusic.com. I’ll be posting playlists on the TUNES! page at http://www.maitaionline.com (the info there now is about my Lounge King appearances; it will be updated shortly).

So there you have it...
