Pardon me, but I highly doubt you've tried every hand crafted micro brewed bottle of love in Canada. Though it is your opinion only, I still don't appreciate that remark.

Certainly I have not tried them all. Neither have you. But, yet you still choose not to "appreciate that remark" even though it is founded on evidence. I have had enough to know what the general approach to beer is in different regions. And I have had enough different beers from around the world to know the stylistic approach in other countries.

Now of course you can find a general crossover point for bland stuff in any country as almost every country favors pale lagers as their beer of choice. But, you must consider the context of my reply which was in response to a statement that Canadian beers were stronger than US beer (or that the word pussy should be associated with American beer) and that simply is not true.

From Canada I have had:

Scotch Irish Tsarina Katarina Imperial Stout
Upper Canada Lager
Unibroue Maudite
Dieu du Ciel Péché Mortel
Unibroue La Fin Du Monde
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout
Unibroue Raftman
Unibroue Don de Dieu
Unibroue Trois Pistoles
Unibroue Édition 2005
Boréale Noire
Unibroue Blanche de Chambly
La Barberie Stout Impériale
Unibroue La Terrible
Boréale Cuivrée
Boréale Blonde
Unibroue La Bolduc
Unibroue Éphémère Apple
Unibroue Éphémère Cassis
Boréale Rousse
Molson Canadian
Moosehead Beer

I also have a Unibroue 10 sitting in the cellar to be enjoyed later.

Granted I've had nothing from Alberta, but what is there to seek out? Alley Kat's beers, Brew Brothers? Brewsters? None of their offerings are very highly touted. I've had nothing from BC, but again what is there that is worth a trip just for the beer? Fat Cat makes a decent Barleywine, but that's not a style I much care for. I've had nothing from Manitoba and again they don't put out anything worth seeking. I would like to try some of the Bushwakker Beers from out of Saskatchewan and I'll get to it someday. Of the remaining-Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Yukon there are a handful of interesting beers, but still nothing that is so compelling it probably doesn't have a better example of the style here in the states.

I've kept ratings on 1375 different beers from 47 different countries. I've probably had in total 2000 different beers, but I've only kept notes on the 1375. Granted the vast majority of my ratings are from US brewers, but as I don't keep ratings on things like Bud and Coors that only speaks to the huge proliferation of craft beer in the US.

But, back to my original premise what is the highest abv beer availible in Canada? Do you know? It is nowhere near the highest abv beers in the US if you want a hint.

Ohh and do you mean this 57 out of 100 overall Hermannator? http://ratebeer.com/Beer/vancouver-island-hermannator-ice-bock/6195/

At 9.5% abv that is, unarguably, very cute. But, try an American attempt at an Eisbock:

http://ratebeer.com/beer/ramstein-eisbock/30309/
http://ratebeer.com/beer/new-glarus-symposium-eisbock/17531/

And yes the modestly rated Crannog Back Hand of God Stout sounds like something I'd like, but I'd hardly toss it out there as world class.
