Beyond Tiki, Bilge, and Test / Beyond Tiki / Tiki Bar Vs a Tiki Lounge (or where Buffett fits into this)

I have had the same "it's all good if it ends in tiki" discussion as well. God knows it was Buffet that got me finally to the promised land of tiki. The Parrothead thing to me is kind of "tiki light" or "tiki-junior" while real tiki places (bars or lounges) are the real deal for grown-ups. Is that it? Is it maybe a maturation process?

I agree on the basic bar versus lounge issue but with tiki I think there is the bar only versus restaurant or restaurant/bar delineation. In that case I would agree that a tiki bar is a more frequent place to hear Buffet or surf rock and see Corona posters. A lounge is more Exotica and Hawaiian with a decidedly Polynesian touch for the decor.
