I don't think this is of interest to collectors, because for one there are few vintage mugs in there, and most of all, what's left of the fun of collecting if you buy in bulk?
I think it would only be worth it to people if they see they can get the new mugs considerably cheaper than for the original, recent price.

I pretty much agree, but he doesn't want to spend the next eight months running back and forth to the post office sending out $6-8 mugs, parting the collection out. Knowing his reserve, I'm looking into taking it myself, and then spend the next eight months running back and forth to the post office sending out $6-8 mugs. I know how mug collectors love the thrill of the hunt....

When I put this on Ebay I will describe it as this:
Tiki Mug Collector Starter Set: Buy instant tiki credibility with a visually impressive assortment in a mere moment. Save the first three years of haggling in the hot sun in some church parking lot over a dollar or two and purchase this hand picked Starter set.

I was hoping some mug collector anal retentive guy had some sort of mathematical formula that would calculate the average resale value of a tiki collection on a per piece average, based upon extensive Tiki Central data collection and research.
Some thing like this(rounded off): New mug avg cost $9.00 x 200 mugs=$1800 . BUY IT NOW!
Like that!
