Vern, I too was sorry to read of Arthur Lee's death in yesterday's fish-wrap. I've been a BIG Love fan ever since I heard their first single Little Red Book on L.A. top 40 radio in 1966 (or 67). I received Love's 1st LP and a cheep knock-off Beatle Bass for my sixteenth birthday and that pretty much launched my musical career. I also caught Love at the Anaheim Convention Center in '69...that performance was so great it took plastic surgery to wipe the smile off my face! |
