I met Ray Charles in '98 at the Atlanta airport. he and his band were on the same puddle jumper with me to Montgomery, AL. I broke my don't bother celebrities rule since he was a legend and not just a clebrity. He was very nice and shook my hand and told me about the benefit they were doing in Montgomery. When I told him that I was heading there for work he joked "sorry to hear that".

I played rugby on a team in Dallas in the early 90's and one season Dave Dixon (starting O lineman for the Vikings these days) played for us after the Cowboys won the Super Bowl and he was betweeen contracts. He was born in New Zealand and rugby was his main sport till he came to the US.

When I was a kid in the late 60's I met comedian Marty Allen in Pittsburgh at the KDKA studios where my cousin worked.
