Looks like you have a classic old Mexican Fan Palm. The soft centered palm you're thinking of is the Queen Palm. Yours is good carving wood, just don't go too deep or you might kill the tree. Have you carved before? If not, I would get some practice in, before attenping a live standing tree. |
