Sounds like you have a plan! If I were single and entanglement free I would look for a place in Kailua/Kaneohe to live. It is a great place to live, near the beach and easy to get to Honolulu/Waikiki via the Pali, LikeLike or H-3 depending on where you are going! Kailua always seems to have one and two bedroom rentals.

Contact me when you are getting closer and I will give you any help I can. Like a ride from the airport to the car pick-up place. Or if you sell your car I can take you to the military lots where all the desperate folks who have orders are trying to sell their cars.
