^^^ quick edit - naugatiki, that's a Maori design and the three fingered hands are typical, occasionally you will see an additional thumb too. That's a pretty cool tekoteko figure with nice kowhaiwhai patterns in the background. Looks like a vintage tourist piece, hard to say as I haven't seen one like it before.

Thanks for the quick replies on my plate. Tiki-Kate, pretty much all my tiki stuff (including this) is purchased online - finds in the wild are exceptionally rare treats in NZ (apart from Maori themed stuff) but do occur very occasionally. I am also gifted pieces from time to time by generous souls who are sympathetic to my plight!
