It was just the one year anniversary of when I got smacked in the face with the chainsaw while carving. I marked the occasion by waking up, grabbing my chainsaw, and safely cutting a log in half with it. After making this single cut, I took the rest of the day off.

The path of the sun is quickly changing and my shade tree is growing back, so I decided to break down the big summer shade setup. This way is much more open:

Been waiting to get these for a while now...

...so I can FINALLY finish this one

In between burning sessions, I've been screwing around carving this face

I'm going to attempt to cram another one of those small bodies under this head.

It's happened several times now. I wake up in a panic. A nightmare. It goes like this:
I've just checked the edge on my favorite gouge; it's perfect. I start to carve and it is like magic. Then the gouge slips from my hand and falls on my brick patio, and lands blade first. I check the edge and it is ruined. The immediate panic felt by me in my dreamstate is enough at this point to startle me awake.
This dream happens over and over in my sleep, and occasionally in my waking reality. This is the only tiki dream I ever have...
