What a treat! After missing a bunch of events we were in need of an night like this.
Mrs. Fury and I got there about 6:30 after negotiating Friday traffic thru the Valley and LA (90 miles) in time to get a table in front that we shared with Tiki Bong's parents. They were a delight to talk to and were proud of their son. Bong senior played geetar in a Country & Western band back in the day and told me a few stories (thanks for the round of beers too!)

The Smokin Menehunes transported us back to da Islands with some great tunes. There was plenty of guest pickers and singers and the three hours flew by. The food was excellent with some really fresh fish. The Mrs. is not a lover of things from the water, but no fishy odors from the kitchen, a great Mango chicken salad, nice company, and Hawaiian music kept her happy.

Menehune time.

Guest Uke.

Bill Tapia and Guest (his former student that played some great jazz rhythm)

This guy was our favorite. Great falsetto singing.

Bill Tapia had some funny stories about naked fan dancers and marihuana. Sorry I don't remember all the names, maybe Lucas can fill in the blanks. Some of the pix did not come out of the guest that played nice slack key guitar and the Endless Strummers.....was it 6 or 8 uke players? Good to see Mr. & Mrs. Bong and Riptide too! You OC people are lucky...every Friday night? No cover? Buy a shirt....tip the band....and your waitress..... Aloha
