The one in Christchurch is carved from Oamaru limestone and is just outside the pub where we celebrated after our exhibition opening the other week. It's a pretty decent size and quite a nice rendering - I was going to photograph it when I was there again last weekend, but I forgot to take my camera downtown. I will try and get a pic next time I'm over there (which will be soon).
Interesting how Chile has co-opted the moai as their own national icon. From what I understand their history of administering Rapa Nui is less than exemplary.
