hartlepool is in england not scotland. hangus the monkey is rooted in hartlepool's history: during the napoleanic wars, a ship wrecked off the hartlepool coast & the ship's pet chimpanzee in military dress was discovered by local fishermen. the fishermen thought the chimp was a french spy & ended up hanging him. brilliant stuff, huh!?! cheers, [ Edited by: Tiki Chris on 2003-03-12 14:24 ] |
