So, I've been wanting to make a menehune juice. The times I've been to Vics and ordered it, I thought it was pretty similar to a mai tai. But I figured it couldn't possibly be the same drink. I didn't know where to start with the drink because I figured I'd either be making a mai tai (not that that's a bad thing), or I'd be missing something really subtle, like 1/8 tsp of pernod. Then I ran across this post by Dr. Z in another thread:

Indeed, I am referencing the 1972 'revised' edition - This edition also features the recipe for 'Menehune Juice', a drink IDENTICAL to the Mai Tai as far as ingredients and proportions, the only diference being Puerto Rican rum instead of Jamaican/Martinique rums.

Now I'm wondering if anyone has a variation on this, maybe a recipe from a different printing of the TV bartenders guide?
