happy new year everyone.this isn't tiki but if you dig lounge stuff...the martini kings and our families went to a new club in palm springs, ca.(open 9 months)."BUDDY GRECO'S SUPPER THEATRE"
. in case you don't know ... buddy is a lounge legend. he has played with everyone, sinatra,dino, sammy and on and on. he even played piano for benny goodman when buddy was 21.
his group consists of upright bass, drums and buddy on piano and vocals. his lovely wife even joins him for a few numbers.
the place only holds about 100 people so you need reservations. expect to drop about a 100 bucks a person. the show was totally old school entertainment and worth every cent. buddy tells some great stories as well.he was married 5 times!the walls are lined with the best black and white photos of buddy hangin with everyone. there was an amazing photo above our table of buddy and marilyn monroe taken 4 days before her death. order the filet mignon and whiskey sour. that's what i had. it rocks.hang out after and buddy personally comes around to the tables and chats with everone. super nice guy. most fun i had in a long time!!!(it is actually a few miles from palm springs on 111 in cathedral city)
