I've seen quite a few really tacky looking versions of that one but yours is really cool with the raised Islands and different colors! Good one! As for your mugs, the double faced ones were available at some of your local ceramic studios. They are known as a hobbyist/hobby mugs and that is the artists initials on the bottom. You see lots of different colors and finishes of these and varying qualities. Some also are available with handles on the sides. I would guesstimate that it is from the 1970's but it is hard to say.
