H

Iorana friends,

finally I find the time to drop a line. It´s my first time to post something on TC for this year.
So it´s time for some new pictures of my latest project.
But first I want to thank benella, Yubaba, hewey and rugbymatt for their nice entries and greetings.
Spezial thank to benella for "Bump" ramba-zamba´s and my threads.

And now I want to show you some new pics of my last month work.
Perhaps you can remember, that I told you I would create a voodoo box.
The impulse to create this box, was once again bigbrotiki with his thread "Tiki Microcosms".
For this I used an old wooden first aid box, which I found in my garage.

First I grinded the box, removed the old paint, gave it some ornaments and carved a new doorknob.
I tryed to give the ornaments and the doorknob some marquesan style and finished all together
with different wood stains.

And now we open the creepy box and look inside!

And here you can the see the lord of the voodoo box. The little fellow is a native of the
easter island. A magician from the "Long Ear" clan. I figured him out of clay and finished
him with some colors, plumes, shells and maize hair.
On the left and right corner are two bamboo pipes with Tiki faces.
The faces are also from clay and I colored them with the same wood stain.
On the left side you can also see a little shrunken head wit shells and plumes.
The interior of the box I decorated with exotic materials like bamboo, palm matting, shells....
The electric with the battery, I hid under the double bottom. When you open the door,
the lamps will lighten automatically.

Here you can see the lord a little bit better with his tattoos and jewel.

Here are the bamboo pipes with the Tiki faces. I closed their eyes with a transparent plastic film.
Behind the pipes are little LED lamps and so the Tiki eyes are lighten.

On the bottom of the bamboo pipes you can open little doors with fixed boxes.
Into the boxes you can put joss sticks. If you ignite them and close the doors,
the Tikis will spit smoke out of their mouth.

Here you can see the shrunken head a little bit better. I figured him also out of clay
and gave him maize hair.
Behind this door you can find the mystical secret of the voodoo box. But be careful,
becaus the the lord will save the secret very well!
On the door I fixed some servicing which look like tapa and little bamboo bars.

Inside the the small room is a pot with some real bones and a fearsome skull with shell eyes.
The walls I also decorated with different tapa servicing and behind the bone pot
you can see the Tiki god of the whole voodoo box. He hold the mastery above "Mana" and "Taboo".

O.K. and here you can see the complete lighting when it´s dark. Down right,
you can see the electronic switch. The lamps will turn off, if you close the door of the box.

In the last picture can see a little bit the smoke, when it gets out of the Tiki´s mouth.
It´s hart to take a picture of the smoke, but I hope you will visualize it.

So, now you have seen what I did in the last time. I hope you will enjoy it.
Next I´ll start with my upcoming project, the Tiki ring out of silver.
So long greetings from Bavaria,

Haikai
