This is why one should wear gloves if they handle this type of lumber prior to it being sealed, after which it is pretty safe. Carving into one might get kind of iffy on the poison factor. I would adore trying some fan palm poles, but hard to find in the Appalachians. Are you going to give us some pics of the secret project? :)
