ID witco painting sculpture? - Collecting Tiki

After looking around on this fourm for a while, I'm pretty sure it's a witco. I don't know what its called though. Can anyone tell me anything about it? I was thinking about taking off the wooden sculptures and just repainting some mural over it (I am an art major in college :)) but I think that that would be a very bad idea.
