Thank you for your welcome, and for replying to my question (your reply WAS informative - no matter how much non-knowledge you think you may or may not think you have or haven't or whatever).

It's interesting that you say that the side-hanging Hei Tiki is an older style of carving. I did suspect as much. They just feel a little archaic don't they? Reminiscent (spelling?) of the Marquesan-style Tiki.
I must admit I do prefer the side-hanging style, perhaps somewhat because of their rarity on the market (not many mass-produced, poorly carved, sorry-excuse-for-a-tiki in this style as opposed to the other), or perhaps it's just my own personal preference (strange territory).

I have to say that, from what I've seen, you'd have to be one of the best pounamu-smiths out there. I've seen your works for sale on both Trademe and Ebay and I may have to snare myself one! Especially if you put up for sale any of your side-hanging wahine!
