I Can't believe the detail you are getting here, Utterly Fantastic and All those other Overused words. I see your 'Cuss Marks" and they happen to all of us. I use the good ol' trusty HOOK KNIFE to do all those type lines, especially in the soft woods. You have Much more control and get way less Overshoot. Usually the Cuss marks are on the fingers though so Be Careful. A little closer here so you can see my 'cuss marks' --the places where my chisel overshot intended carving area and made me cuss!
