Dynamic, supple and full of life. A very distinctive "figurative" style...it reminds me of something I've seen before ...? :wink:
I'm with you on the eyes too...I like the eyes of the little supporting figures on some of the trad panel carvings which are just a simple ridged almond shape like on your guy. Paua or whatever is nice, but to me inlays work best on flatter designs (my sig image is a good example) that are only meant to be viewed front on.
