If anyone wants to go to any bars that aren't Taboo Cove here's my recommendations. You may find me at any of these watering holes throughout the weekend (on Thursday night for sure and other nights only if I can tear myself away from the bands at the Gold Coast), but you won't find me at Taboo Cove.

Sky Lounge at the polo towers (swanky old-style lounge with great views):

Pogo's Tavern, especially on Friday nights for seeing big band jazz veterans:

Algiers Cocktail Lounge, 2845 Las Vegas Blvd. S., 735-3311 The googiest bar in town.

Atomic Liquor Store, 917 Fremont St., 384-7371. Dive in seedy neighborhood with great neon sign and pretty good CD jukebox.
