I know they're probably gonna get sanded back, but it would look cool to leave that nice chisel texture on them - it really accentuates the gnarled look.

Nice digits G! I can't recall having seen 'em done that way before - are the examples you've seen on newer (ie late 19th early 20th C) pieces? I know they're probably gonna get sanded back, but it would look cool to leave that nice chisel texture on them - it really accentuates the gnarled look.
