Ben, the tongue is fixed but held by the cord...it has a little movement but not much. I was going to let it swing a little, but it didn't look right when it wasn't lined up nicely with the teeth. The "wood" carving is actually a little resin tray that came from a garage sale - still looks the part though! Now I need to figure out a name for this guy....?
